According to the Central Bank of Egypt, these inflows increased by 28.1% compared to about $23.2 billion during January through July 2025. The figures represent the latest official data for the 2026 calendar year and include funds sent back by Egyptians employed abroad. This amount exceeds the same period in 2025 by roughly $6.5 billion.

The month of July alone accounted for roughly $4.5 billion, reflecting a 20% rise from approximately $3.8 billion in July 2025. This monthly figure follows earlier increases observed earlier in the year. Remittances in January were around $3.5 billion, marking a 21% rise from $2.9 billion in the same month of the previous year. February’s inflows reached about $3.8 billion, up 25.7% from $3.0 billion in February 2025. The combined total for January and February was approximately $7.3 billion, contributing significantly to the overall remittance figures for the year 2026.
On a fiscal-year basis, total remittances hit approximately $47.3 billion in 2025/2026, representing a 29.6% increase from the $36.5 billion recorded in fiscal 2024/2025. In June 2026, inflows were about $4.2 billion, up from $3.6 billion in June 2025, a 15.6% rise. The fiscal-year increase amounts to roughly $10.8 billion. These fiscal-year figures cover July 2025 to June 2026, while the current total of $29.7 billion pertains to January through July 2026.
Remittance inflows maintain robust double-digit growth
The Central Bank of Egypt also announced a record $41.5 billion in remittances for the calendar year 2025, which was a 40.5% increase over the roughly $29.6 billion sent in 2024. This increase equated to about $11.9 billion in dollar value. During the first half of fiscal 2025/2026, remittances reached around $22.1 billion, compared to $17.1 billion in the same period a year earlier, reflecting a 29.6% growth.
December 2025 saw remittances of about $4.0 billion, a 24% increase from $3.2 billion in December 2024, setting a monthly record at that time. By January 2026, the cumulative fiscal-year inflows had risen to $25.6 billion, representing a 28.4% increase from $20.0 billion. The total by February climbed to approximately $29.4 billion, up from $23.0 billion a year earlier, marking a 28% increase over eight months of the fiscal period.
Official reports highlight sustained inflows across periods
The upward trend persisted into the spring months. Remittances from July through March of fiscal 2025/2026 reached about $34.9 billion, a 32% increase from $26.4 billion. By April, the total for ten months rose to approximately $39.2 billion, a 33.2% increase over the $29.4 billion recorded a year earlier. April alone generated about $4.3 billion, which was a 44% rise from $3.0 billion in April 2025, translating to an absolute increase of roughly $1.3 billion.
By May, fiscal-year remittances stood at approximately $43.1 billion, reflecting a 31.2% rise from $32.8 billion during the same period the previous year. In May, inflows were around $3.9 billion, representing a 13.5% increase from roughly $3.4 billion. The total for 11 months reached about $10.3 billion more than the previous year’s comparable period. The fiscal year concluded at $47.3 billion, with the calendar-year total reaching $29.7 billion by July. Throughout the latest official data releases, both cumulative and monthly figures consistently surpassed those of the prior year.
