The A20 Pro chip is built on a 2-nanometer manufacturing process and features a six-core CPU along with a seven-core GPU. It also includes a Dual 16-core Neural Engine with a total of 32 cores dedicated to AI processing. Apple claims the GPU offers performance improvements of up to 40% over the A19 Pro. A redesigned vapor chamber increases surface area, improving sustained performance. The devices also support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread via Apple’s N1 wireless networking chip.
Battery life has been extended across the iPhone 18 Pro series. Apple rates the eSIM-only variants of the Pro for up to 36 hours of video playback, with the Pro Max reaching up to 45 hours under similar testing. The iPhone 18 Pro can attain 50% charge in approximately 15 minutes when using compatible wired accessories. Removing the physical SIM tray frees up space for a larger battery in eSIM-only models, which will be available across several Middle Eastern markets.
Siri AI Debuts with iOS 27
The latest devices come preloaded with iOS 27, supporting Siri AI through Apple Intelligence. Siri AI begins beta testing on September 14 for supported devices configured in English, with support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish planned for October. The feature can utilize personal data from messages, emails, and photos to process requests and can respond to on-screen content. Apple Intelligence processes data primarily on-device, complemented by Private Cloud Compute for supported cloud-based tasks.
Pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 in the United States, while the Pro Max begins at $1,299. Both models offer storage options of 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB. The available colors include burgundy, glacier, silver, and black. In the UAE, the iPhone 18 Pro is priced from AED 5,099. Preorders begin September 12, with official sales starting September 18. An additional 20 countries and regions are set to receive the devices on September 25.
